| The
Landestag of Hessen State Parliament, located on the Schlossplatz, was
once a castle and residence of the Emperor Wilhelm II. It was built
in 1837-1840. During Prussian times, it was a popular place for the
royal families of the Prussian king and German Emperor.
It has gone through
several renovations. It is quite plain on the outside, but the inside
is beautiful with stained glass, gold leaf decorations, statues, marble,
and tile inlaid floors.
Today, it is the
center for the Hessen State Parliament. Wiesbaden is the capital
of Hessen. There are many business offices, meeting halls and conference
rooms.
