6. Prevention 7. Baseline 8. Improvement 9. Proof 10.Celebration
Our GOAL is for teachers and students to meet School Improvement Plan (SIP) goals
using a variety of technology tools.
1. Vision:
We picture a school where all classrooms are designed to increase student learning through a balance of direct instruction and project oriented activities.  Teaching success is built upon established performance standards enhanced through the effective use of technology.

2. Goal(s):  (top)
The specific achievement(s) you want to make (within a period of time). achievement(s) that move you closer to your vision.
Focus on the School Improvement Plan
  • Focus on the curriculum and standards addressing SIP goals.
  • Continue our participation in the DWHIT Co-teaching model with a plan for follow-up integration and sharing.
  • Request Co-teacher models related to School Improvement Plans.
  • Emphasis on technology training complements the SIP goal
Focus on how to spread the knowledge level on tech skills.
  • All new teachers coming in will have one-day orientation to include use of technology in the school.
  • Develop a Tech Mentor program (Mentor Bank)
  • Develop an assessment strategy to determine the technology comfort level.
Encourage teacher use of the general-purpose lab for curricular-based learning.
o  Lab use priorities will be established for;
  • Co-teaching opportunities
  • Cross curricular units
  • Study Groups
  • School Improvement Plan activities

  Technology Integration Leadership Team (TILT)
Promote the integration of technology.
  • Teams comprised of Department Chairs or Grade Levels, and Teacher Leaders

4.Timeline:   (top)
A list of specific dates for each task from the plan to be completed by that time.
Overview of SIP goals supported by Technology, enlist additional team members i.e. SILT and Professional Development Team
Plan year of training and implement study groups, introduce teachers to online courses. Recruit tech mentors, department heads, grade level chairs
Continue team planning and small group and focus group planning
Continue team planning for professional development activities
5. Anticipated Problems:  (top)
A list of things that can go wrong. obstacles, resistant people, personal shortcomings and so on.
Staff Resistance
Insufficient inservice opportunities
DSO, AREA, DODEA mandated staff development topics corrupt staff development schedule
Loss of momentum
Time constraints
Additional work load required for NCA team visit
Additional pressure to raise standardized test scores.
Closed minds
Lack of "mentors" & time for mentors to work with teachers
6. Preventions:   (top)
Strategies you can employ to avoid or resolve the anticipated problems from #5.
Make it voluntary and non-threatening.
Find "time" within the instructional day.
Reward and celebrate successful implementations.
Perseverance and encouragement (through the DIP)
Emphasize the standards and how the textbook is a tool NOT the curriculum.
Enlist teacher input for the inservice - make sure the goals, objectives etc of the inservices are published well ahead of time, teachers know that the NEXT inservice is a follow-up to a previous inservice
Provide choices for "training" - online course, study group, large group instruction, co- teaching, peer assistance
7. Baseline:   (top)
An observable indication of how you perform now in the goal area of your challenge contract.
  Tech use surveys
Examine  "log" of projects prepared in the general use computer lab.
Debrief the "mentors" to see if their time was well spent.
Number of teachers who volunteer for additional training. I.E. co-teaching opportunities.
8. Improvement:   (top)
Minimum:  The smallest improvement you will accept.
All teachers can describe and document their use of technology in support of the School Improvement Plan.
Satisfactory:  An average acceptable level of improvement.
Each department/grade level has one person serving as a Tech mentor.
Excellence:  Evidence of great achievement or expertness.
Students and teachers exhibit a variety of technology uses in learning.
9. Proof:   (top)
The demonstration or documentation that will prove to others that you successfully met your challenge and achieved your goal(s).

Through the use of peer observations, portfolios, and surveys we will determine that a majority of classrooms have integrated technology into their curriculum and are demonstrating engaged learning techniques.

10. Celebration:   (top)
The most pleasurable and appropriate way of enjoying your achievement. Self reward!
