Our Language Arts and Reading Specialists are professionals with advanced preparation and experience in the teaching of reading and writing.  They are responsible for the performance of literacy learners in general and for struggling learners in particular.  They are involved in supporting the work of the classroom teachers and in developing an effective school-wide reading program.

The Language Arts/Reading Specialists have many responsibilities in our school.  These are their many jobs:

	Assist teachers with the implementation and management of the adopted language arts/reading program.
	Provide student instruction to supplement, not replace, regular classroom instruction.
	Promote and foster professional growth and development.
	Provide language arts/reading resource services to teachers.
	Provide assessment services for students.
	Collaborate with other specialists
