Qualities required in a Gifted Education
Program
These are the qualities defined
by Dr. Joseph Renzulli. They are necessary in the gifted program
at Hainerberg Elementary.
Giftedness consists of an integration
among three basic clusters of human traits:
-
above average general abilities
-
high levels of task commitment
-
high levels of creativity
Talented and gifted students are
those possessing or capable off developing this composite set of traits
and applying them to any potentially valuable area of human performance.
Students who are capable of developing an interaction among the three clusters
require a wide variety of educational opportunities and services that may
not ordinarily be provided through regular instructional programs.
