If you are interested, please fill out the form you received and turn it in to the front office or the Asst. Principal by the deadline. Please note that any late applications will be placed on a waiting list.

The Summer Enrichment Program for SY 2012 at Hainerberg Elementary School is from June 25th, 2012 through July 20th, 2012.

DoDEA offers a 4-week, half-day Summer Enrichment Program for Space-Required and tuition paying DoDDS and eligible DDESS students who are currently in grades K-8.  This program features an academic-enrichment curriculum emphasizing math and language arts.  It is not a remedial program but is designed to support and reinforce student learning through engaging, high-interest activities.  The program runs Monday through Friday for four weeks, from 9am to noon.  Neither transportation nor lunch is provided.

Effective January 3, AAFES will increase the full-paid student meal prices by .35 cents.  While this is not a DoDDS/School issue, it is important that we support AAFES in getting the word out— All media inquiries should be directed to AAFES.

Attendance

School attendance is important and in order to receive the best education, students need to Be Here! This year, DoDEA is implementing a system-wide attendance policy for students in DoDEA schools throughout the world. This new policy is consistent with those found in many public schools throughout the United States.

View DoDEA's School Report Cards
The DoDEA's School Report Cards (SRCs) are very similar to those required by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. The SRCs list school contact information, school improvement goals, a school's student demographic profile, and academic indicators such as the SAT and Terra Nova scores.

DoDEA, in alignment with the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, is committed to easing the challenges of military families moving between duty stations. For families transitioning to a new duty station and enrolling in DoDEA schools for the first time, there is now a provision, allowing a 30-calendar day grace period for parents/students to meet immunization requirements after school enrollment. The intent of this provision is to avoid any interruption in the transferring student’s education. The health and the welfare of all students is a top priority for DoDEA. The Department of Defense sets immunization requirements for DoDEA schools based on recommendations from the Center of Disease Control. Compliance with immunization requirements greatly reduces the risk of public health issues. School nurses and local military medical treatment facilities stand ready to assist parents in meeting these requirements promptly.
